Helpful staff and good location

The staff member had really good english, knew lots about the local area and found the train times for us (train station is an 8 minute walk) - at the moment there are some really young kittens in the hostel amongst lots of other cats which is a bonus if you are a cat person, the rooms had suitable A/C and curtains on the beds, and you can buy large beers from reception for 60 baht which is the cheapest by far of any hostel i have stayed in so far

Lots of cats, but good location!

Comfy beds, friendly staff and good location. 5 minute walk from the train station.
Too many cats (I’m allergic so it wasn’t brilliant for me) - they mean no harm but it just wasn’t ideal.
Wifi is good. Not much of a communal area though so isn’t that social.
Can be very noisy if you’re on the toon facing the road.

Salsa Hostel is awesome

Great hostel with fantastic host. Very clean and welcoming. In a great location close to the train station and numerous shops for food. Host went out of his way for me! Would highly recommend staying here. Host even arranged for me to be transferred to the pier for my ferry. Also, love the cats at the hostel!

Very good...

Hostel is pleasant, clean and comfortable. Highlight is the inclusive breakfast which was of a very high standard. I liked the fact that there were many different bins for the various types of waste, with an eye to recycling where possible. I was also grateful for the free bottle of water handed me but my thoughts are that since there was (generously) a free water refil station then the courtesy 500ml bottle just adds to the total plastic use of the establishment. There is a free towel for thb100 deposit. plus two maybe three cats wandering around looking very chilled about the situation. Easy ten min walk from railway station, hostel can arrange your onward travel no problems. Would stay again.
