A Little Slice of Paradise in Bled
We absolutely loved our time at Vila Bled! While the property could use some updating, the grounds and the staff more than made up for it.
The front desk staff was absolutely wonderful throughout our stay. From assisting with our luggage to helping us order dinner when we were too exhausted to head out. We were always greeted warmly and asked about our adventures when we returned every evening.
We had a rental car and they could not have made it any easier with parking. (Which is free!)
The grounds are simply stunning. It felt like our own little slice of paradise. From enjoying breakfast overlooking Lake Bled to enjoying the balcony in our room which also had a lake view... It was so serene and peaceful.
The breakfast (which is included) was wonderful. So much variety to choose from. Our last morning, we were able to sit outside with our mimosas and enjoy the view of the island. Also do yourself a favor... Be sure to walk up to Cafe Belvedere to not only enjoy the view, but to enjoy a piece of Bled Cream Cake!
I cannot image staying anywhere else the next time I am in Bled!

Exceptional location
Exceptional location. Magnificent private park on the lake
Rooms with an immense lake view. Room 207 has an incredible view of the lake
Private dock on the lake, billiards, ping pong, parking included, which is necessary!

Customer care required
Fantastic location and has all the potential of being a 5 star luxury hotel. However we had a couple of very unpleasant experiences with staff members who were most unhelpful. Their staff training needs a good shake-up, as the least one expects is civility let alone care and consideration. We felt this was sadly lacking

A lovely wedding experience
We stayed for 2 nights in Villa Bled Hotel in June for a family wedding. The bride and and groom had taken over the hotel for the wedding day so that there were no other guests staying during their ceremony and celebrations. This was once the summer home of Tito who ruled the old Yugoslavia. It is now a grand, traditional hotel set in magnificent grounds on the edge of Lake Bled. An idyllic venue for a wedding. In the grounds all you hear is birdsong. The photos were stunning. We stayed in room 202 which was a very large suite of 4 rooms plus the en-suite bathroom. Completely over-the-top for just two of us. This is a very traditionally furnished room and very comfortable but not at all modern and is not cheap. But it felt really special. There was loads of storage space for our things. We had a mini fridge (stocked with rather expensive items). There were two televisions, tea/coffee making facilities, room safe. No air con but there was a room fan. The room was very quiet.
Bathroom was rather traditional and a bit old fashioned but spacious with shower over the bath, hairdryer, thick towelling dressing gowns, bidet and his-and-hers washbasins. Great lighting throughout the rooms and loads of mirrors.
The staff everywhere were very friendly and helpful. There was free parking.
Breakfast offered a fantastic selection of cold buffet and a few cooked items.
For the wedding, the day started with canapés on the terrace, then the wedding ceremony out on a lawn, then photos all around the grounds and terraces etc. Then we had a boat ride for all guests around the island on the lake. Then we sat down to the wedding meal in the courtyard. When it got cooler and darker, we all adjourned to the ballroom on the first floor for dancing into the night and more food at around midnight.
It was an absolutely wonderful occasion and wedding venue.

A great hotel in an extremely beautiful park with a wonderful view! - absolutely recommendable!
We stayed there for one night, a beautiful hotel in a lovely private park, with a phenomenal view of the lake and the island! With private lake access to the private beach. As well as beautiful wooden rowboats exclusively for hotel guests. Furthermore, the hotel has a very good restaurant (gourmet quality), as well as a spa and a gym. Our 4-room suite was classically styled in a slightly post-socialist manner with a lot of charm. The breakfast on the terrace with the magnificent view was truly wonderful, featuring a very good breakfast with a rich selection and, of course, the Bled cream cake. If Bled, then Villa Bled!
