Great friendly hostel with a helpful host ( Basil) plus his helpful friends. Very welcoming.

If you want a real community hostel where guests as well as Basil and his team talk to each other instead of being glued to their phones, this hostel ticks the boxes.
Clean, spacious, near eateries and the Azaiba bus terminal.
I shared taxis, walks, experiences with some great guests.

Fun local experience

Staying at Basil Hostel made me not want to ever leave Muscat. I had so much fun and met the most incredible people. Basil (the owner) is the kindest and most generous soul you'll meet and a man of many talents. I met a lot of his very lobely friends that he invited for iftar (it was Ramadan) and they all insisted to join them to eat. In addition, they all happen to be talented musicians so after the meal they sang and played instruments and brought some awesome vibes. They really make you feel like you belong and they take you toniartxioatw in their daily lives like going to the nearby beach to play volleyball or climbing, hinking, etc
Apart from that, rooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, the place is clean and location is awesome. I felt like a local.
