Nice landlady
Very friendly and kind landlady. She gave us a better room than we had booked, since she had a spare room in the evening. She also gave us recommendations for eating and shopping for groceries (she doesn’t speak English, tho).
Room was nice, had a separate bathroom and toilet. It was a bit chilly for me in the room but it was actually good for sleeping.
Good price and location as well!

Great friendly family business running a spotless and convenient hotel
We three British middle-aged guys booked ahead from Vilnius via B.c.. the Monday night before the Tuesday stay.
We arrived at Trakai station at around 14:15 and made our leisurely way beside the lake along the wild flower and waterfowl populated reed beds. It was so relaxing after a week in Kaunas and Vilnius.
We arrived at 15:15 (stoping frequently to take loads of pics) and found this detached modern wooden house by the main road near a statue on an island.
The door was open and in we ventured. A young tall man with fair English was surprised to see us but greeted us. They had not checked their bookings that morning, fair enough; we should have phoned ahead to confirm. The mum came down (little English) and we were ushered upstairs to room 5. This is obviously a friendly family business and they seem to live upstairs on the second floor and attic.
The light pine decor looked new and all was very clean and belied its three year old (judging by the only three Russian reviews with no pics from 2015) history. The family obviously are very house proud and have added blankets since the grumpy low rating review!
Room 5 at the town side has three beds (two together as a double), thin wardrobe with a few hangers and shelves, small but very useful fridge, cutlery, plates, glass tea mugs, beer glasses, kettle, hair drier, a towel each, lots of pillows and cushions, sofa bed, foot stool, dark curtains (they worked in the morning, unlike most, in keeping the light mostly out), led/plasma TV in top corner, windowsill for nick-nacks and two smoke detectors! Lots of power sockets over the beds (and sofa bed) and one bedside lamp on the bedside table (between the twin/double bed and single. No hooks anywhere to hang jackets. All good though in a relatively tight space but it was not claustrophobic at all. Extra blankets were available in the wardrobe, there was no radiator but the house seemed very well insulated. Fridge was quite quiet overnight and was not disturbing us.
Mum showed us the shared but separate shower room and toilet with sink rooms in first floor corridor, all very clean with soap provided. They overlooked the road but had blackout mirror windows to see out but not in, albeit a little disconcerting! The shower-room had an electrically heated towel rail. The room did not have a bin but there was a large communal bin in the corridor.
As we had been travelling a week already we had accumulated a few kg of clothes that needed a proper wash. A launderette was spotted on a map but we thought we would ask the mum (via the son) if we could pay to have them washed as it was very convenient. They were amenable to do it for free but we insisted we paid and within an hour they were hanging on a rack system in the back garden as the sun was creeping round the sky to catch them later in the evening. A weight off our shoulders for the price of two beers (€5).
The garden had a big BBQ and bench table, no doubt to have a home-made picnic on using the facilities provided. Breakfast there would have been too cold. We had an early evening coffee (Iki 700m back down the road and a Maxima 200m further) and an Alcohol Free Weissbier by the lake 200m to the west past the coach park, on a jetty watching the wildfowl families. All very peaceful. We avoided the coach parties at the castle (some from Spain!) and had a really nice dusk walk around it after our splendid Georgian meal at Pirosami.
We spent a peaceful night on the narrow but comfortable beds. The road noise was minimal and the fellow guests quiet and no noises were heard from the family above.
There was a wait for the morning loo at 08:30 as I was unlucky. There was no problem at 09:45.
Writing this now I'm hoping to have breakfast on an Eastern shoreline jetty in the sun. The fridge, kettle, crockery and cutlery being extremely useful!
Finishing my review in advance of checking out to upload in the reliable wifi we are all very pleased here and happy to give full marks to this lovely family business who try hard to keep people happy. I'm surprised there are only three reviews after three years!!
Keep it up! A few hooks on the back of the door would be useful and getting the TV working would be helpful if it is raining outside!

Good location
The location of this house is very good, in the center of Trakai, there is free parking. Easy, nice walk to the castle. There are several restaurants, cafe's nearby and also a small supermarket.
We occupied 2 rooms, one on the ground floor - with private bathroom - very basic room and no Wifi in the room (accoring to the owner the only room in her house where the Wifi is not going through) - we had to go outside the room to have internet. It was also a very cold room, however it was in August.
Second room - on the 2nd floor also with private bathroom - a very nice room, warm room with good Wifi, and water kettle but no tea or coffee...
All in all, good value, due to the situation and facilities.

Отличный отель в центре Тракая. An excellent hotel in the centre of Trakai
Очень милый уютный отель в самом центре города, в шаговой доступности от всех достопримечательностей. Гостеприимство и радушие хозяйки выше всяческих похвал. Она даже отвозила нас на собственной машине к месту проведения мероприятия, ради которого мы приехали в Тракай. Я рекомендую этот отель, вы не пожалеете. И всегда буду останавливаться только в нем.
This is a very nice comfortable hotel in the heart of the town, within walking distance of all attractions. The hospitality and cordiality of the hostess is beyond praise. She even took us by her own car to the venue of the event, for which we came to Trakai. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, you will not regret. And I will always stay only in it.

Противоречивые впечатления.
Данный отель выбирали по отзывам. Останавливались на две ночи. Сам гостевой дом небольшой, уютный. Нас встретила хозяйка дома, очень приветливая женщина, все рассказала, показала, дала советы куда сходить покушать. Отель расположен на центральной улице,очень близко к замку(400 метров), рядом есть хорошие кафе и рестораны, в 10 ти минутах от отеля есть большой супермаркет, работает до 23.00. Стоянка прямо за отелем. В будни, если уехать, можно по приезду не найти места, но мы машиной не пользовались. Прямо в соседнем здании находится отличный ресторан грузинской кухни Пиросмани, недалеко от него расположено кафе , где так же можно вкусно поесть(особенно караимские пироги, ну очень вкусные и всегда свежие).
Номер у нас был на втором этаже, с балконом(он такой один). Номер просторный, две кровати(можно сдвинуть в одну), небольшая отдельная ванная комната(угловая душевая кабина, маленькая раковина и туалет), дверь закрывается гармошкой, есть вытяжка (работает хорошо). Из ванных принадлежностей - жидкое мыло и мыло для рук(не новое, бывшее в пользовании!!!!) Два махровых полотенца(это было мое самое огромное разочарование!!!!)полотенца, было видно, потрепанные и после намокания от них жутко несло плесенью(в итоге даже к ним не прикасались)много раз останавливались в аналогичных гостевых домах, но такого ужаса не встречалось никогда. Что касается кровати - постельное бельё и покрывало были ГРЯЗНЫЕ!!!!толи плохо стирали, толи не стирали, но сам факт, от наволочек также несло плесенью(но не так ужасно как от полотенец). Номере есть шкаф с вешалками, тумбочка у двери, внутри есть чашки для чая, стаканы, тарелки, ложки, вилки, нож(тупой),штопор. Есть столик кофейный(низкий), холодильник маленький, работает тихо, функции свои выполняет отлично, есть морозилка. Есть чайник, телевизор, прикроватная тумбочка с зеркалом, в одном из ящиков есть фен(не пользовались), телевизор(русскоязычных каналов нет, но много музыкальных)в пульте либо батарейки садились, плохо работал. розеток достаточно, но расположение странное - подключить тот же телефон можно, а вот положить некуда. В номере три окна(одно не открывается). Про чистоту пола и ковра не могу ничего сказать хорошего, берите обязательно тапочки. Про холод - батарей я не нашла, в номере действительно холодно, но причину мы выяснили- на этаже есть два окна, одно прямо напротив номера у лестницы, второе в туалетной комнате, эти окна всегда открыты и очень сильно задувает под дверь в номер, плюс дверь на улицу всегда открыта. Когда я все эти окна закрыла спалось хорошо(открывали только на проветривание балкон(с закрытыми окнами очень душно, т.к.стены обиты пластиком. Балкон небольшой, есть стеклянный стол и три стула, мы попали в дождливые дни, так что балконом не пользовались. Шумоизоляция хорошая, мы никого не слышали и ни с кем из соседей не пересекались. Т.к. окна выходят на дорогу иногда ночью ездят машины, но хуже когда мотоциклы, но это редко и не мешает. В шкафу есть несколько пледов и отзывчивая хозяйка предложит,если очень холодно, обогреватели. Все кафе открываются не раньше 10/10.30 , поэтому чтобы утром не голодать лучше заранее прикупите себе в магазине чай/кофе и что-нибудь перекусить. На окнах, к сожалению, нет москитных окон(комарики, мухи,мошки). Кстати на заднем дворе есть столик с лавочками и каменная печка-мангал, можно самим приготовить поесть) Не понимаю почему про грязь никто ничего не писал, возможно не повезло только нам или народ не настолько чистоплотный был. Но если планируете останавливаться в этом отеле, то обязательно берите с собой набор полотенец, тапочки, теплую пижаму, ну и шампуни с мылом и гелем для душа. Несмотря на радушный приём хозяйки дома, за что конечно же огромное ей спасибо, но в этот отель мы больше ни ногой. Все таки чистота - самое главное во всех отелях!Очень надеюсь, что чудесная хозяйка этого дома примет адекватно мою критику и устранит все минусы)Успехов!
