Gorgeous hotel, right on the beach
The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the outskirts of split town. You cross the road and you’re in the sea. There is a fun inflatable on the beach and a jetty to jump into the beautiful Clearwater where you can also snorkel and see lots of fish. The hotel staff could not be more helpful. The spa is lovely as is The outdoor and indoor swimming pool facilities. We stayed at the hotel for three nights bed and breakfast – the breakfast was the best buffet breakfast I have experienced at a hotel and I am a seasoned traveller. The Prosecco, freshly made omelette and gorgeous selection of fruit meats and cheeses were to die for! Highly recommend staying here and having a Beach view room as the view is spectacular. Do not understand the low ratings for this hotel. I’m not sure what people actually are looking for!!

Dissappointing
Huge disappointment. Rooms are average, not cleaned well and tatty. Torn curtain and coffee sachets not replaced. No milk available and room service non existent. The bathroom toiletries not filled up. The "waiters" at the restaurant are totally useless. Stand around and when you ask them for a coffee or a cutlery item they tell you to do it yourself. The transfer service from the harbour to the hotel they charged me 80 euros which the Uber charged 12 euros. This is a total rip off and dishonest. The food quality mediocre. Considering the price it's definitely not worth it. Does not deserve the four stars. The location is perfect and could be a fantastic amenity with proper management.

Excellent hotel, terrible service
It is a very good hotel in terms of rooms and facilities, but it has a terrible service that is not up to par.
Nice and large room with sea views and a King Size bed, good bathroom.
The buffet breakfast is exceptional, very extensive and varied with very good quality products and even with preparations made on the spot for tortillas, eggs, and crepes.
The spa area and the outdoor pool are very nice.
The hotel is located 5 km from the center of Split and the transfer is inconvenient because you depend on taxis for everything, but the pool and the beach saved our stay, as we had temperatures of 34 degrees.
The service from the staff is terrible and very unprofessional; when we arrived to check in and despite showing them the reservation and my ID, they were unable to find it, we got a receptionist who was newly hired and who
did not know how anything worked.
We had two rooms with sea views and we made that known, well, one was given to us with views of a parking lot. We had to go down to complain. The two colleagues who were with her at the reception did not bother to help her and were half lying on the chairs watching and making comments about the female guests of the hotel. Something completely lacking in respect and decorum.
The hotel has a terrace with views on the top floor where they charge you €14 for a mojito and they don’t even come to the table to take your order; you have to go to the bar to request it yourself. There were hardly any people and the table was not cleared from the previous customers; they did not come to clean it and despite there being two waiters at the bar, one of them was smoking with a vaporizer, so there was time for that. Seeing such a scene, we left without consuming anything due to a regrettable and unprofessional
service.
The service completely lacks professionalism and empathy towards the customers; there is no figure in the hotel who controls and demands.
The exception is the spa staff who are friendly, although sometimes they run out of towels.

Modern hotel right by the sea – our first choice for Split
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5 stars
After some organizational difficulties with our originally booked hotel, we were able to spend the last two nights of our stay in Split at the Amphora Hotel. In retrospect, that was the best decision for us.
Even upon entering the hotel, one notices that great value is placed on quality here. Everything is modern, high-quality furnished, and exceptionally clean. Our room was spacious and featured an impressively large terrace – we had never had so much outdoor space in any hotel before.
The location also convinced us. Only one street separates the hotel from the sea. Additionally, both a beautiful outdoor pool and an indoor pool are available, allowing one to relax regardless of the weather.
A true highlight for us was the newly designed beach promenade right in front of the hotel. It is modern, generously laid out, and invites long walks. Along the promenade, there are numerous bars, restaurants, and many sports options such as soccer, basketball, and tennis courts. Here, one meets locals as well as vacationers.
We were particularly impressed by the sustainable concept of the solar panels along the promenade. During the day, they provide shade for beachgoers while simultaneously generating energy for the atmospheric lighting of the promenade in the evening. A truly well-thought-out and modern solution that we have not seen anywhere else so far.
The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and helpful. One felt welcome from the very first moment.
Another highlight was the breakfast. We travel very frequently and have experienced many hotels – a breakfast buffet of this quality and variety is rarely encountered. Fresh juices, hot and cold dishes, gluten-free and lactose-free products, as well as even sparkling wine were, of course, available. Here, truly no wishes are left unfulfilled.
In the evening, we dined à la carte in the hotel's own restaurant. The buffet would have cost €45 per person, which is why we consciously chose from the menu. We opted for roast beef with homemade gnocchi and beef carpaccio. Both dishes were excellently prepared and tasted outstanding. Together with the drinks, we paid around €58 – a very good value for the price.
A small note concerns the dining options along the beach promenade. The prices there are surprisingly high and differ little between the restaurants. A draft Croatian beer (0.35 l) cost, for example, €7, while a Budweiser (0.33 l) even cost €8. In terms of pricing, this level is, in our view, sometimes even above what we know from Germany.
The only small point of criticism – and this is really complaining at a very high level – concerns the Wi-Fi. When streaming a soccer game, the connection occasionally reached its limits. However, for normal use, the Wi-Fi was completely sufficient.
Our tip for anyone who wants to explore Split by car: The Amphora Hotel is, in our view, the ideal accommodation. You can reach the old town in just a few minutes by car, enjoy the vibrant center during the day, and then return to the quiet location right by the sea.
For us, the Amphora Hotel was the perfect accommodation for our stay in Split. We would come back anytime and confidently give it 5 out of 5 stars.

Disappointing.
We took a day spa for €40, which was disappointing. A mini jacuzzi for only 2 people, the 3 jets in the indoor pool do not work, some particles float in the water, body lotion in the shower was exhausted by 10 AM, and the electrical outlet box was loose with exposed wires... We do not recommend it!!!!
