Beautiful, spotlessly clean hotel.

A beautiful hotel in the absolute best setting. It's at the very end of The Charles Bridge, so could not be in a better location. We were in room 31 which has dual aspect windows overlooking the bridge and the front of the hotel. The ceiling of our room was beamed, and beautifully painted historically with fruit and flowers. We had a huge bedroom, bathroom, and an entrance area with large wardrobe, writing desk and a bureau (this was pretty, but a chest of drawers for clothes would have been handier). The room was air-conditioned, which was one of those units that goes through the window. The hotel was beautifully maintained, with pretty window boxes. There is no lift and it was about 50 steps to our room, but it wasn't a problem at all for us. The staff are happy to help with luggage it needed. The breakfast was great. We didn't eat other meals at the hotel as we were out and about, but I'm sure they were good. The staff were friendly.
We loved Prague but would advise to go mid-week. Absolutely avoid Saturdays! It's choc-a-block with stag and hen parties, groups on bikes, quads, and in stretch tour cars. It was awful. The following morning, all gone! Back to beautiful Prague.
We went in June. I think peak holiday season wouldn't be as enjoyable as the streets are narrow and hot and they will become very crowded. It wasn't that busy when we went and we could visit most places with only a few people around. However, sometimes we did arrive at the same time as a walking tour (and there are quite a lot of those) and we either had to wait till they'd gone or return later. We did the same when the 'influencers' were at a particular site as they take a long time having their photos and videos taken and it means everyone has to wait a long time. It's too hot to stand queuing in the sun so best to return later.

Wonderful location and excellent value

The location was exceptional. We walked out the door and faced the Lesser Town end of the Charles Bridge. We stayed in one of the apartments and there were two mini-split units, one in the living area (with a sofa bed) and one in the bedroom. Such a blessing because we were visiting during one of the massive heat waves! Breakfast was phenomenal.

The air conditioning in the apartment we rented did not work correctly, the temperature only dropped 1.5 degrees Celsius in 2and a half days, we complained and were told there is nothing wrong with it and we had no options. They brushed off our concerns and made no effort to repair it

Great location but very tired.

This hotel has an excellent location - right on the Charles Bridge. It is historic and has some charm. We were disappointed however in the standard of the room and common areas. The carpets on the stairs are frayed and dirty. Our room was very cramped and poorly decorated. It all looks very tired. Breakfast is in included and some of it was ok. Some of the fresh produce was inedible and looked like it had been out for days. Some of the reception staff were smiley and helpful: others a bit grumpy and dismissive. Basically the hotel needs some money spent on it to bring it up to standard.
