The hotel should be more efficient around their shuttle service to the terminals. They should allow the guests to pre-book their rides on the shuttle transfers for their upcoming flights away from Sofia so the coordination of the logistics could be improved. We were denied shuttle transfer to the terminal due to the lack of space and not allowing us to pre book in advance. Another, observation is that practically there is not a normal walkable path with baggage to walk to the closer Terminal 1 which is about 900m away.

AVOID THIS HOTEL – very disappointing experience.
For more than €80 per night, the condition of this hotel was unacceptable. The room and bathroom were dirty, with mould and grime around the shower, stained carpets and walls, questionable bedding, and several disturbing brown stains on different walls that looked as though they could have been fecal marks. I took photos.
The problem was not limited to my room. The common areas were also filthy: stained carpets, dirty walls, neglected corridors, and even the elevator and its mirrors were dirty. The whole hotel felt worn, badly maintained and unclean. Even the illuminated ibis sign on the roof was partly broken, so from a distance you could barely tell it said “ibis”.
The soundproofing was terrible too. I could clearly hear noise from the corridor and neighbouring rooms.
The shuttle service was another major disappointment. My flight was at 7:20 a.m. and the airport is only about 1 km away, yet I was only offered shuttles at 4:30 or 5:00 because later ones were fully booked. For such a short trip, the hotel should simply run more shuttles. I eventually had to walk to the airport with my luggage.
After reporting the issues and providing photos, the hotel refused any refund.
I am shocked this hotel has a rating of around 8.2/10 on Hotels.com. AVOID THIS HOTEL. I absolutely do not recommend it and would never stay here again.

The plug sockets in the downstairs communal areas are live and dangerous. Two sockets blew when I put in an adapter. That needs looking at. Potential harm to persons / fire

The breakfast was not a good experience. The drinks machine was not giving out hot water so no teas were available. There were only 2 slices of bread in the basket, all the jam dispensers were empty and the hot food was cold in the trays

I stayed at the Ibis Sofia Airport and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
The room had a number of maintenance issues. The light fitting was broken, there was no shower gel in the shower, the bathroom corners were dirty, the TV was mounted crooked and leaned to one side, and the room door didn't close properly—you had to lean against it and push hard for it to latch. The TV also has an extremely bright white standby LED that shines directly into the room all night unless you unplug the television.
Breakfast was particularly poor. At around 9:40 a.m., despite breakfast still being in service, there was virtually no hot food available. There was no pancake mix, one of the coffee machines was out of order, and all of the jam/condiment dispensers were blocked, meaning you had to remove the bottles just to get anything out. Tables weren't being cleared, giving the dining area an untidy appearance. Breakfast wasn't actually closed until 10:22 a.m., so there was plenty of time remaining for it to have been properly stocked and maintained.
The sparkling water function on the water machine was also not working.
The staff at check-in were not particularly welcoming. They were just about acceptable, but certainly not engaging. Finally, the car park is very uneven and poorly surfaced, making it awkward to drive and walk on.
Overall, this stay left a very poor impression of the Ibis brand.
