A place to come back

Delicious place, clean and quiet located along a canal from which you can reach the center on foot in twenty minutes The welcome is kind and sensitive, the breakfast is rich and gives you the right charge. The chats with Fred are very interesting :-)

Worst nightmare, uncouth host and gets bitten to death by mosquitoes in a boiling room.

Run, don’t not book this place. Fred is the worst host ,I’ve ever met from 30 years of frequent travel all over the world. He shouldn’t run a B&B. He’s rude, unprofessional and uncouth. His greeting was shouting at me at the entrance just because I was being polite and asked if it’s ok park on the street. He treated us like dirt and i felt extremely uncomfortable. He’s South African
I felt that he was racist to us. I didn’t want to
go to his low level. I wanted to leave immediately. However, we were exhausted to the bone by driving.
I’ve been in regular contact via WhatsApp about our ETA. He said that because we arrived at 17:50pm. Although I did messaged him
to say that we are 50mins away. He was late for football. Why bother being a host them? He also is trying to avoid tax by forcing us to pay cash or a bank transfer. He was rude our teen daughter too. I work in cyber and his WiFi is not secure too.
The whole room is infected with mosquitos and we were bitten to death. We couldn’t wait to get out of this nightmare of a place. We left at 6:30am.
I booked this after reading all the good reviews. Not
Sure who wrote them. Our experience was terrible.
He charges €177.65 for a checking at 18pm
and checkout at 10am (which he reminded three times). Not worth a penny. Run do not book this awful place.

Friendly B & B

This B & B is within walking distance of the city centre via some quiet sidestreets & is run by very friendly staff.
Our room was a good size, well decorated & had a well appointed ensuite shower & toilet.
The staircase up to our room was steep & it was disappointing to find that the breakfast is charged as extra.

Bunch of thieves!

No Fred, no breakfast, no service. But they let you pay for it! Heard after paying that there was no breakfast because of Covid. No restrictions were imposed at that moment in Belgium. The place was held by a student who was present an hour a day. Owners were themselves on holiday. No one to take back the key, no B&B philosophy, more like an expensive american motel. Got no reaction on my emails to the owners, still waiting to get refunded the 4 breakfast we should have enjoyed. If you want to spoil your visit to Ghent, go to this place!

De heer Lamcuen kreeg op voorhand de keuze ofwel een verblijf zonder ontbijt ofwel een verblijf in een andere B&B en/of Hotel in Gent. Er was toen nog geen betaling ontvangen van de heer Lamcuen. De gast koos om toch in Fred&Breakfast B&B Ghent te verblijven. Hildegarde (een jonge, veelbelovende studente) was inderdaad de gastvrouw (met dezelfde kwaliteiten als Fred) en gaf je een grote, nette kamer. Lamcuen had reeds het voordeligst en goedkoopste tarief in het hoogseizoen. Ontbijt is in deze formule niet inbegrepen. Extra korting en tweemaal langs de kassa passeren is hier dan ook niet van toepassing. Hopelijk genoot de heer Lamcuen toch van zijn verblijf in Gent.

A new location in a very quiet environment at about 10 minutes walking from the city centre. There are pubs and restaurants not far from it. It is easy to reach it from the train station with tram no. 2; main tram lines stop nearby the B&B. The owner is a wonderfully nice man, providing you with a healthy breakfast every morning. Cleanings are done once a week, but if you need your room to be cleaned more often, or you need extra towels or toilet paper just ask the owner. Remember that credit card are not accepted.
