Pictures don’t come close to doing it justice!

My favourite place I’ve stayed in Albania! Arrived here prior to completing the Valbona to Theth walk. We did not arrive until 2ish but had a serene afternoon in the sunshine. Room itself was fine with 4 beds in one room and the bathroom, although more of a wet room in typical Albanian fashion, it was one of the better ones I’ve experienced. Staff were lovely and really helpful. The food and drink they offered was as much as you could’ve asked for. What made this experience so special was that it was arguably the most scenic place I’ve ever stayed. The views almost looked fake, as though they were drawn on! Location was also one of the closest to the start of the hike for those also doing the walk.

good location but very basic

The settings are nice, and the location is very convenient, just a short walk to the trail heads. However, the food is bad, and the rooms are very basic.

Wouldn't choose this place if I had to go back

The location was perfect for the hike to Theth, just at the start. But they told us it was far from the start, they were referring to the start at Rragam.
As for the room it was very basic and was not clean. One corner of the bed was wet and there were bugs in the bed. Also the breakfast was not worth waiting for, we should have left earlier for our hike.

Scenic stay in Valbonë

Nestled in the valley just outside of Valbonë, this hotel is a lovely place to stay, particularly if you are planning to venture to Theth (it is located just a half hour walk from the start of the hike path). You can also camp here, or park a minivan. The room we stayed in was very simple but comfortable. There wasn't any toilet paper but we had packed our own, so that wasn't an issue. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, so they can get hot during the summer months.
The staff were very accommodating, and the scenic views are glorious. We enjoyed having a beer on the balcony in the sun. Dishes are available for dinner in the evening - mainly traditional food, home-made and reasonably priced. We planned to get up early to hike the next day, so the hotel kindly made us a packed lunch the night before, as we would be missing breakfast.
